Loveships Level-Up Alignment Ceremony
DESCRIPTION
Look at you two! You are getting ready for a big ceremony. Or preparing to bring new life into the world. Maybe you just made, or are about to make, a major life change together. Or is it a milestone anniversary? Maybe it has been a difficult season or you feel like it’s a wild unknown world and you are just glad to be in it together. We see you looking at each other wishing that you could level up your superpowers of love and support to be more powerful together than you have ever been before. Guess what? You can!
We have decided to offer the Level Up Alignment Ceremony, a tool we use to bring alignment, clarity and deeper connection to the seasons of our own partnership, to a select group of kindred Loveships (aka couples). This offering is a way to share the blessings that have been poured into us and build the foundation of the larger Loveship movement which we hope will provide tools, support and community to visionaries in partnerships all over the world.
What is a Loveship?
Our official definition of Loveship

- a loveship is the vehicle people take to intentionally be in partnership and collaboration with another or others for the sake of living out one's highest spiritually attuned purpose.
- a loveship is a familial relationship of choice where two or more people grow spiritually and personally.
- loveship is a journey; loveship is generative space.
However you and your loved one self-identify (spouses, partners, couple, bae-baes, wives, husbands, etc.) if the language of loveship also resonates with you then it also applies and does not exclude your particular naming. We intend it as an inclusive terminology for the expansive prismatic creativity of our love...ships.
During a Loveship Level-Up Alignment Ceremony you will:
be intentionally heard and held by your partner
intentionally listen to and hold space for your partner
learn tools to create peace and progress in your relationship
have opportunities to celebrate each other
clear lingering blocks or resentments from past experiences
mindfully create the next season of your life together
experience a gourmet loveship luncheon hosted by us (Alexis & Sangodare) with a 5 star chef providing the meal (in-person offering only)
Loveships will have the option to have this meal with either us (Alexis and Sangodare) solo or our two Loveships along with one to two other Loveships to build community.
Each loveship will leave the Loveship Level-Up Alignment Ceremony with:
a concrete custom 20 second ceremony to bring levity and togetherness to any moment;
a loveship workbook
and a few space-making ceremonial tools to reactivate sacred space together when you return home
And we are excited that once you experience the Loveship Level-Up Alignment Ceremony you can use any aspect of it in your Loveship from now on!
We have the capacity to hold space for five (5) Loveships to participate in a live Loveship Level-Up Alignment Ceremony with us this August in Durham, NC. We also have a virtual option (details below). We will choose Loveships that have already signed up for our virtual Sustaining Sweetness course based on a short online application. Submit your application between now and June 15th.

The main differences are that the in person version includes an in-person luncheon in addition to the in-person ceremony. Additional differences are listed in the comparison chart here (below/beside).

Everything that you share during your session and our 1-on-1 loveship-to-loveship luncheon (if you opt for the one-on-one luncheon) is confidential. If you want the fact that you even participated in the Loveship Level-Up Ceremony to be confidential also, just let us know.
We are also able to sign and honor an NDA (non-disclosure agreement).
Whereas we will practice together with all the loveships participating in Loveship Level-Up with intention which includes keeping and maintaining sacred and hospitable space, if you choose the group luncheon option we can not guarantee that complete confidentiality will be maintained by every individual. In this case, each loveship is encouraged to communicate and share what feels comfortable in this setting like you would at the gathering of a loved one where folks you know well AND folks you don’t know are all in attendance together.

Alexis and Sangodare facilitate each part of the ceremony sessions and the luncheon together.
Our beloved event management partners help us host you well at the meet & greet and the luncheon but do not participate. they are holding space for us.
Our beloved five star chefs and their team help nourish and host you well at the luncheon but do not participate but offer their culinary gifts and skill to us.

In short we added up what it would cost us to offer our ideal version of the ceremony and divided it by 5.
More: We dreamed up what would be the ideal space and conditions for us to offer you an inspiring and exciting experience and a set of tangible tools to take with you. Included in that is all the people who, given their expertise, could help us make that happen in a way that meets our standards. We then divided that by 5 (the maximum number of people we felt like we could hold space for over the course of a weekend). The number we got became the price per person.
For the payment plan we calculated what it would cost us to cover the registration costs for folks paying over time; in other words, what it would cost us to loan the registration costs out to loveships paying over time and what it might cost us to pivot if some loveships who were on the payment plan ultimately did not have capacity to complete all the payments. Though we trust this is not likely to happen. -
The workbook is a tool that allows your loveship to document the experience we have together during the Level-Up Ceremony AND continue to do the ceremony at home on a seasonal basis with the workbook functioning as a facilitating aid. It is both a journal and a manual for this ceremony to live on in your loveship.

No. If you are traveling from out of town you get to make your own travel arrangements and plans for additional meals besides the luncheon. Unfortunately, we do not have any hotel in Durham that we can recommend with confidence. However, 30 minutes from Durham, we have had great experiences with the Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, NC (a suburb of Durham).

We need you to be present a minimum of 2 days. It could be Aug 15 and 16th or August 16th and 17th. Think of it like this, your options are :

Your session will happen on one day and the luncheon on a different day. -

We will most likely do more focused outreach when our Loveship offerings and gatherings expand to include more people.

We have been partners for 16 years and our approach to our relationship has always been to honor that we have come together to help each other and our community grow and transform. That means that beyond the comfort of being together and the comfort of being in love, we also embrace the challenge of perpetual emotional and spiritual growth. Thankfully, our elders have poured into that intention with their stories, wisdom and tangible tools to make our Loveship flourish with grace and ease by being well resourced beyond our individual and joint capacities.
Every season, ideally on the solstice or equinox, we activate our own version of this ceremony in order to acknowledge and support each other and to intentionally create the next season of growth for our Loveship. We have also provided this as an offering to hold space for Loveships who have asked Sangodare to officiate their weddings. This year we realized that we really love holding this type of space for people in inspired relationships and looked at what it would take to offer it to our community more broadly. -
The Loveship course portal has asynchronous courses for Loveships and Lovebirds who want to bring intentionality into their practice of nurturing or seeking romantic love. It also includes recordings of live workshops that we have offered to support Lovebirds and Loveships. The portal continues to grow as we make more offerings.
